Donations that are given to the Johnny M Foundation go to fund and sustain our major projects:
Every year we participate in the Ronald McDonald Give 365 program. We donate $5475.00 annually to pay for every family who stays in Johnny’s room throughout the year. (RMH base this on an expense of $15.00 per day). We also spend money annually to freshen the room with necessities such as sheets, blankets, towels, paint etc.
Johnny’s clubhouse is also located at the Ronald McDonald house in Camden. This is an indoor playroom for children ages five years and younger to play and have fun in a safe environment. There is also a very tranquil and comfortable area for the parents to sit and relax while the children play and forget about their illness and treatments for just a little while. Yearly we must buy new toys, paint, fix and replace anything broken or worn.
Our foundation purchased a second home for an organization called “For Pete’s Sake” a Cancer Respite Foundation. Purchasing them a second home enables approximately fifty families a year to have an all expense paid vacation for one week and take a break from cancer. Annually we donate $5000 to pay for the expenses for a week’s stay on Johnny’s Angel Anniversary week.
The Johnny M Foundation has pledged $750,000 to underwrite the expansion of child life programs at Cooper University Health Care, including the complete renovation of the Child Life Play Center and new art, music, computer and recreational programs for pediatric patients. We have currently donated $300,000 of the $750,000 commitment.
