The Johnny M. Foundation was formed in 2010 to honor our son, John Murabito, Jr.’s “Five Year Angel Anniversary.” It is our hope to be able to raise money that would enable us to provide support, encouragement, and enjoyment to young children and adults that are faced with difficult life challenges. One of the first missions of our foundation is to purchase a home in Orlando, Florida and name it “Johnny’s House.” Once purchased, it will be donated to “For Pete’s Sake, Cancer Respite Foundation” and will assist them with their mission to send families away on vacation while they undergo cancer treatments.

Currently, For Pete’s Sake has one home in Orlando which is consistently occupied. Unfortunately many families are turned due to lack of availability that’s why we want to purchase this home. Orlando, Florida was our son Johnny Murabito’s last and final vacation destination; we would take pleasure in knowing that others would have the opportunity to enjoy Johnny’s House as much as he enjoyed the pleasures of Orlando, Florida.

In addition to our goal to create Johnny’s House, we hope to raise funds for less fortunate children to expose them to activities that enrich their recreation and social outlets. Among these activities are building ball fields, camping trips, and educational enrichment programs which will all serve as a alternative to the challenges they may face in their communities.

I heard it once said, “to whom much is given, much is required.” I believe it is all of our duty to support young people and those dealing with medical conditions with the basic essentials of life which is happiness. With Johnny’s passing, we would like to preserve his memory by helping others. He touched so many lives while he was here with his beautiful smile and funny personality. With the help from all of you, Johnny’s memory will live on for a very long time, and he will continue to touch many more lives.
